Either when a user downloads Cakewalk by BandLab or when the user downloads the add-ons, two manuals in PDF format are included: the Sonar User Manual and the Sonar Reference Manual.  Both manuals are extremely useful to both new and advanced users.  While online documentation is current and available it does require the user to be online.  The manuals are available offline and can be installed on devices that do not use Windows such as tablets, e-readers and smartphones.  However, the pdf format does not accommodate alternate displays well.

BandLab, as you convert the manuals from Sonar to Cakewalk please consider converting the manuals from the PDF format to ePUB format.  While pdf files are generally are okay for display on a computer screen they do not adapt to all resolutions well. Similarly pdf files are terrible when viewed on alternate displays such as a tablet, e-reader or smartphone. EPUB was created specifically to resolve the issue of viewing documents on various displays. EPUB is the most widely supported vendor-independent XML-based (as opposed to PDF) e-book format; that is, it is supported by the largest number of hardware readers.

I downloaded both files to my e-reader and smart phone but the font is too small to read on either device.  When I zoom in the page format falls apart and the graphics will not display.

Wikipedia has a nice article about ePub with plenty of links and references including free publishing software.  The article is available here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPUB.

I believe converting the reference and user manuals to ePUB format will greatly assist new users and attract users to Cakewalk by BandLab.

The SONAR User Manual and SONAR Reference Manual are not provided by BandLab (if they did, SONAR would not be in their names). The SONAR Reference Guide was a snapshot of the web-based SONAR help in pdf format. BandLab provides web-based help only for CbB. No other formats are generated.

About that. Any plans to include a PDF manual in the future that you know of?

Noted in Release notes : https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk/whats-new

"Localized UI and help coming soon"

I believe it wont be long, they will bring back Offline Help feature.

I believe this is refers to the other changes in the notes.

AFAIK, there are no plans to add additional help formats. The local help option was removed from CbB. There was a similar discussion a while back where the idea of downloading the html was brought up. Nothing definite though.

I use this https://calibre-ebook.com/
to convert e book formats
There is sometimes a few glitches but the books are always 100% readable.
It's always been free and is solid software. Way better than the Kobo app.

Scook,
Thanks for the responses.  Is it possible I received the manuals with Home Studio?  I know I didn't have them with Music Creator 6.

Sock Monkey,
Thanks for sharing the link for Calibre.  I've not heard of it.   I hope I'm wrong but it appears the converted file must reside in a specific folder.  If that's true then Calibre will work because I want to view the files on my e-reader and Android tablet.  I will download the program and see what it can do.

mariogag, try these links:  https://www.4shared.com/file/jEgeQl88ei/Sonar_Documentation.html and https://www.4shared.com/office/hEmqCy3vei/SONAR_Reference_Guide.html or https://www.4shared.com/o.../SONAR_User_Guide.html

Calibre is one of those gems that does exactly what you want and it's free.
When you convert any file, say a LIB to a EPUB both files will show when you choose that book from the list. It supports all major formats.
Your book reader will show as an icon at the top and you can use Calibre to add and delete files.
