If I may Mike...you may have done this after the photos but
thought I'd mention-
Round the edges on the sides. If you've already glued the nut in then
tape off everywhere around it (don't rely on "being careful":)

this next one is just me....I don't like it when a nut is not polished. ( go for it Craig!)
Here are some excellent pads to shine that brass. Again, tape everything off.
If you have some 800 grit hit it with that first and these pads will do the trick.
