Do you know why it started leaking?

A few years ago after having our roof re-shingled we got a leak
over a closet.
I went in the attic-found the entry and went out in the storm
and found that a nail had raised up ? even had the shingle over it
raised up...just seemed weird to me. I plugged it, game over.

I found that nailing the roofer to the roof over the leak is an effective way to ensure that future roofers prevent leaks.

Spacey: The roofing material has just got old I thought I had patched it but obviously not.  New roofing materials being picked up today provided the rain holds off we should get it fixed.
