Do you have a specific focus for this?

One of the most impressive videos I have seen is below, of an Alzheimer's patient who was re-animated via music from his day... began talking like a bird afterwards. Music has incredible therapeutic uses on the mind specifically, which will also affect the body - mental state will affect physically healing as well.

Thanks for sharing, mettelus.  Amazing!

The Henry Video went Viral and is one of the most effective messages anybody could ever find on the internet.
I am now part of this quickly growing community of Music and Memory facilitators in North America. Not sure if it has found it's way across the ocean yet.
Our facility is now officially a certified site and we are one of the first in western Canada.
The big difference with personalized music lies with the use of the headphones. It's way different than just sticking music on a getto blaster. The headphones immerse the person in the music. We use these little powered speakers in tandem with the headphones to monitor what they are hearing and levels.

I would also suggest you contact a couple of senior centers in your area to see what they may be aware of, in that vein.

Additionally, you could look for one of those organizations at the Federal level, like something along the lines of the National Council for Senior Citizens.

I hope some of the above helps.  WAY kewl stuff, by the way.  Both myself and my Mom have spent countless hours playing piano for all kinds of folks - mostly seniors, many with Alzheimer's or other impairments.  It is AMAZING to see someone instantly respond to some familiar song, and they plug right back into being able to talk and sing and remember things, when without the music they couldn't recognize their own family sitting there next to them.

If you want to make a difference to a lot of very bored peoples lives. Contact your local care facilities Recreation dept and offer to come in and play for an hour. It is super hard to get volunteer musicians around here.
The old folks love all types of music if played on acoustic instruments. Your dealing with people that have been exposed to a wide range of music, unlike people today.
They remember the roaring 20's, the big bands, Buddy Holly and Elvis, the Beatles and 60's and even (Gag) Tom Jones , Willie Nelson, Hank Williams and on and on. Most Facilities keep a sort of in tune piano on hand.
You'll never find a more appreciative audience even if your not that accomplished or smooth.
I love my job. Where else can a Musician get payed to play any old song that pops into their head and you need nothing but an guitar. You might need a small PA if they have more than 30 people in a large room, but most of my sing a longs I do unplugged,, but then I have a very loud voice.
