All doctors are liars including me.
This is just foolish statistics. The usual way this kind of sophistry is applied is in the opposite direction. Some quack will claim that you can live forever by following the following 635947 rules. He will then go to the literature mostly based on case control studies (the second weakest form of medical/biological evidence), that showed that people who answered that they ate bacon on average lived a few days less than people who did not, and posit that avoidance of bacon can extend your life by that number of days. Then he finds that people who avoid smoking celery stalks added an average of 12 days to their life and so on. So if you can live 35 days longer by avoiding bacon, and 15 days longer by not smoking celery, the obviously you can live 50 days longer by avoiding both. By adding up enough correlations, it is
mathematically possible to live forever if you avoid everything that has shown a risk in one of these studies.
Unfortunately your body does not care about such silliness, and will stop working at some point regardless. The single most important determinant of longevity is genetics. So choose your parents carefully.
