My wife wants to start one for her cooking/baking hobby. She basically wants to add/update it with photos and recipe's.

Since we're both kind of new to this, are there any recommended good (free) blog sites that are better than others?  (I noticed some have fees and others don't)

I signed up for a Google account (free), just so my wife and I could manage the daily chaos with Google Calendar.  Once you sign up with Google, you do get access to their other offerings, including Blogger.  It's free, but I have not investigated it fully, to see what kinds of bells-and-whistles are included.

Thanks Jim. I do have a Google account, but never ventured into all that's included with it......I suppose it's TIME!! :)

For a serious blogging tool, I really like the wordpress.com stuff. It also do domain hosting so if you get serious with the bloging and want a domain for it you can easily - and nicely priced - do it right in the service. And it has excellent tools for spelling and formatting.

www.wordpress.com (not working for them, just liking it)

Here are two of my favorite craft blogs.  The first one is made with WordPress (which I now realize powers most of my favorite blogs), and the second is made with Google's Blogger.

Rabbitseaspn, Filthwizardry is one of my favorites, too.

Mesh, I'm on Blogger, and have been for three years or so.  If I had to do it over again, I'd choose Wordpress.  There seems to be a little bit more of a learning curve, but only slightly, and it can be so much more than Blogger can.  I'm considering changing over.

Whoa....and I thought the Coffee House was a major waste of time. Apparently there are gazillions of words of pretty well written drivel out there to read. So little time...

Well, I gotta go hose off my dog's butt.

Thank god I have a real life.
