hello

i wanted to play some mid files with an old dos player
and because the dos player has probs with type 0 midi files.
i wanted to convert the midis to type 1

after the file is saved as type 1
the lead track is missing in the new midi file when played with the dos player
when i use other midi converters
like synthfont, gnmidi or sekaiju to convert the midi file
the type 1 file plays fine.

funny thing:
the type 1 file created by mc7 is 30k smaller compared to the type 1 files from synthfont, gnmidi and sekaiju.
but in mc7 and in synthfont the file converted with mc7 plays fine.

dos player (playmidi from gravis ultrasound) is very old yep, but still interesting that all other converters create a different file than mc7 which is fully playable in dos.

strange but seems mc7 is compressing the type 1 midi in some way
making it not fully playable with the dos player.....

Hi Peter0815 and welcome to the forum.

Any chance you can post a link to a  zip file containing both a before conversion and after conversion example?

The before and after will let other MC7 users see the issue and allow them to verify the issue with their system.

I don't have MC7 but do have MC6.  I'd like to try the conversion in MC6 to verify if MC6 does, or does not have a similar issue.
