Was wondering where the BandLab app downloads the updates since I'm running low on my SSD drive.  The older incarnation of Sonar had a location where updates were downloaded and they could be moved to an external drive or deleted.  I'm hoping to do this with the new BandLab versions.  Anybody know?

I just upgraded my SSD to a larger size, so I have time before this becomes a problem again.

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to locate on our own, but I'm no above letting someone do the research for me :)

The process *currently* deletes the install files after installing (given it's 1/2GB, I think this is poor practice), but it's stored in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\bandlab-assistant\Downloads

Well that explains my problem as I was needing to copy the installer to my portable drive to take it home as I cannot download there. So as said by a few others, I guess you are hooped unless you have good internet. Free, but only too some.

Thanks for the useful information, KPerry.  I guess with that architecture, I won't have to worry about download accumulations, although as Cactus pointed out, it would be a nice option to have it deleted or to retain it somewhere.

If running low on space, "TreeSize - Free" is a nice utility to see how your drive is allocated. For larger directories that do not get used frequently, moving those to a second drive and creating junctions will regain space if you are able to do so.

IMHO using the AppData directory for huge downloads isn't such a good idea. These days many of us have SSDs for the C: drive, and those get worn out faster when constantly writing large files. There's a reason why the life span of SSDs is usually given in TBW - Total Bytes Written. Deleting the files afterwards doesn't help.

It would be better to use the "official" Downloads folder, as this can (and should) be relocated to a different drive.

So what's the size of your current SSD, and which OS are you using?

I would definitely be imaging my drive and moving to a larger capacity SSD.  Sweet & Simple.

Using a 500 GB Samsung drive, but thinking about upgrading to a 1 TB drive.  I do a lot of audio, video and photo editing as well as a lot of virtual instruments that gobble up space on C drive.

Also, take note that "app data" is a hidden folder, at least on my system.
