I read here there is an update to Cakelab ( CbB )
I open the assistant note, I am logged off,  and it say's it has a new version 3.2.0, Mine is 3.0.8
I click the "update" button and it say's it will update and then nothing happens.
I wait while and still nothing happens.
So is it still just like in the beginning, no visual feedback about progress??  even after these updates?
I though we all complained quite loudly about this issue?

.
Maybe they don't care

It's fixed in the new version of BA, (progress bar) I installed it on an old laptop to get the last few remaining projects started in Platinum converted over to Studio One, and the process was painless(the install of latest BA and CbB install and update), I installed the latest v3.2.0 BA, and it installed CbB (and updated the next day) was all very quick and painless.

Would suggest you manually download and install the latest BA from the site and all should be fine

It's been a few hours so I just gave up and I'm updating CbB with the 3..0.8 version. At least there's a dialog telling me I'm downloading (1/1)  for that. Everything I download has a progress bar, It just makes me think they are sort of amateur at this software thing which tank goodness is only the Assistant app.
Doesn't matter, as long as Cakewalk is still in good hands and continues.

I thought you didn't have a progress bar or anything when you said 'no visual feedback about progress', and I remembered many complaints about it back a ways, no idea when it changed, this was the 1st and last time I have installed BA and I seen it had a progress bar, so I just mentioned it.

Well it is 'freeware' after all, so . . .

Anyway it done it's job for me, loaded a couple of remaining Platinum projects in CbB on my old laptop, got everything I need moved over to Studio One (only took 3 years to finally get everything moved over), uninstalled BA and CbB, job done.

I believe there's a thin line under the Bandlab header on BA that is the progress bar. It's hard to see and gives no percentages or anything, but that's it. I agree it's very clunky.

Yes millzy...

It's been there for a couple of BA updates but extremely thin and very easy to miss...

As Ms Landslide said, and others have already noted, why not simply download a new Bandlab Ass from their website, install it, then let it update CbB on its todd ? Much simpler.

Hi Cactus...

I'm guessing you did this but thought to mention it...

Did you disable your antivirus software's realtime protection prior to starting the update? I never had this issue back in the Sonar days, but i've often run into the inability to un the updater if realtime protection is running...

Well I agree, the Assistant App is sort of crude compared to CCC.

+1 to this approach. Also, since there have been noted issues upgrading from 3.08, it is also highly recommended to uninstall BA before installing the new version.
