Last time I had blood drawn, the nurse, a friend of mine, is actually pretty good with the needle.... fairly painless.

As part of my diabetic care, I'm required to have blood taken twice a year for analysis (Mr Jones, your blood should NOT have a head on it )

Last time, the nurse doing the deed couldn't find a vein and bruised me considerably. She tried 3 times and even then only managed to fill half of one vial (they normally insist on taking 2 full ones)

My wife also doesn't like going for lab work as her veins are barely visible, but she does ask the phlebotomist to use a "butterfly needle" which I think is what they use on children and that has worked out quite well.
Never leave it upto that dingbat phelobotomist to decide what's good for you.

You are probably one of those guys with veins that you can actually see. I am more like Bristol Jonesey my veins are buried deep under muscle. It took three nurses the last time to find a vein and the best nurse they had still had a tough time finding a vein.

I look at it this way. If we were both in a sword fight and we both got nicked I know which one would bleed to death first. I feel kinda blessed.;)

Glad it all went ok Wookie. Too much iron?

When I show Bapu my prices he always asks if I'd like his blood too.

Proof positive that Bapsi is strange.

That just happened to The Lovely Lady too. I'll not stand next to her in public for a while for fear the authorities will detain me for domestic abuse.

Relax Ed, giving a partner good cause to want to punch you isn't a criminal offence.

Don't ask me how I know.

As always, I asked her if she was a vampire, and then if it would be just a 'little prick'.

Oh how she laughed...

"I've never heard either of those before fatty" she said.

But I know she was lying.

I'd used them both on my previous visit.

* Well, I am a man, and that's what it felt like.

Did she give you a complimentary chortle then?

Craig, there was no chortling.

In fact, I'm sure I saw her change her small hypodermic needle for an absolutely huge one.

And I didn't even get a wowwy-pop
