QUESTION: What is the fastest way to convert 15 individual tracks from ACID to regular WAV files?  I'm assuming I can export one track at a time as a WAV file but I'm looking for something more efficient.

(I'm suspecting that the reason for the problems saving a project (15-20 minutes) that I've had this weekend and reported in two threads below may be related to ACID clips/tracks imported from Band in a Box.)

Thanks.

I think you can just select them all and do "bounce to clips"? If you need to export them for some reason you could grab the bounced clips from the project audio folder.

Or in case you didn't know you can export as many tracks as you want in one go by selecting "tracks" as source category when you export. Provided you have selected everything you want to bounce (as per usual in Sonar).

FWIW I would be surprised if using ACIDized files increased the saving time by that much, do keep us updated.

Hi. You should be able to export all audio to separate tracks in the export preset menu (I do not have X1). I believe that you should be able to use Source category Tracks, "RAW tracks preset", and choose wave as file type.

All the best.

I also believe that Sander has a good point (at least) if you are using many clips per track.

I gather that the point of the exercise is to convert the ACID files to plain WAV within the context of the existing project, not necessarily to export the tracks. So bounce to clips seems fastest to me.

If bouncing to clips does convert acid files to .wav, you have a very good point (I just do not know).

Hey guys, IT WORKED.  Bounce to clips worked.  Once done, "save" was very fast (normal).  SMALL problem: Bounce to clips is converting at a volume that is too high even after pulling the gain on all tracks down to -15 dB.   ANy ideas?

Will call Band in the Box when they open and get their input.  Suspect the problem has been fixed since I bought the upgrade. (Its a great package with good support)

Thanks for your help

Bounce to clips doesn't take into account the track volume fader. Only clip gain and fx (and mute status). Unless you have gain envelopes or fx on the clips (not the tracks) the gain shouldn't change at all. Not sure what's up there.

By the way if your clips are peaking near 0 then it's not that strange to have your fader down below -15dB. I often have.

Similar has come up in the past where another DAW defaults to an export that causes grief internal to others. Does BIAB have an export option for "Broadcast wav" files (or even standard wavs)? Broadcast wavs contain the timing information, so can be imported to their time stamp (requires a SONAR preference checkbox enabled). Checking the export options within BIAB is something to consider (either Broadcast wav, or standard wav gives you something that any other program would recognize).
