Never mind the detonation, the caption says there were 2 F-89's, whereas it looked to me rather like an F-89 and an RB-57 involved in the sortie instead. A little errant detail like that would have bugged me so much at the time it would have entirely ruined my experience and enjoyment of the blast.
And who is it that would describe a missile strike required to hit an imaginary point somewhere in the entire sky as "...the perfect shot"?
