 I guess they're near-field monitors--at least for one side of the car.  

I  remember in Shreveport it was the Sunset Drive- In. When I was little my parents would take me so I could go to the playground. I remember the pizza! That was before pizza parlors or any thing like today.When I got older and started dating I was a regular. Ohhh the concession stand and chili dogs. The blondes ....I always dated blondes. Isn't that wierd. Good times for sure!

i guess i was totally wrong then, i thought they were near-car monitors

Drive off and forget they are in the window and BANG.... either the cord broke or the window glass did.

You may be right.  I don't think they did 7.1 surround, though.
