Yes and FX3 is Sounstage is it not? As I wrote FX3-101 .exe ergo if I cannot install it, doesn't it make the question valid? Especially when ALL links only end up here https://shop.cakewalk.com/1244/catalog/category.60182/  where there is NO reference to said plugin???

Don't worry yourself I'll look elsewhere!

A bit harsh? I don't think John realized the files you were referring to were the update versions of these files, which apparently require the originals to install. From what I recall, Cake made all the old FX plugins available, with passwords, as free downloads a few years ago, and the DX shell solution arose shortly thereafter. John started this thread to confirm that it (the DX shell install) still works for Sonar 2016. Unfortunately unless Cake makes them available again, unless you have them already, you might be out of luck. I personally don't see it as worth the trouble (but would like to see a 64 bit, multi-channel version someday).

OK!

With a bit more help from forum members, I finally managed to get regsvr32 to work for SoundStage.ax...

Then placing Dxshell in the folder and ran a vst scan...

It added a slew of other plugins as well (almost all Sony plugins that came with CDArchitect) and Soundstage will now load and work... except...

It sounds crunchy! If I disable the pluin, the sound is clear.... Now what? ;-)

Well TBH, I thought his reply post was a bit harsh

It could be your sample rate. Some older plugins are not happy with odd sample rates. Otherwise there is no problem with the plugin. Also you shouldn't have had to register it manually. I has an installer.
