  • [Solved] How to Manually Register a dx plugin

I seem to remember in the past, there was a series of commands we could use to force a registration of a dx plugin...

Anyone out there remember it and care to share?

Thanks!

There is only one command line program used: regsvr32.exe
Running it at the command line without any options displays the help screen

Thanks guys...

I seem to remember that it often had trouble unless I changed folders before running it too...

Now I just need to find the command prompt in windows 8.1 as I don't recall seeing a run command anymore...

Thanks again... I'll keep trying.

I palced the soundstage folder into my vst path and put dxshell into it. When Sonar scanned, it found a whole bunch of other sony plugins not in that folder, but it still didn't see soundstage/ax so I'm guessing it's due to the soundstage file failing to register.... Hoping I can force it?

Run regsvr32 from the path where the plug-in is installed or use the full path to the plug-in binary.

Tried and failed again...

In DOS window, went to the soundstage folder and ran regsvr32  naming the soundstage.ax file... returned a failed message...

From folder where dx plug is:

c:\windows\system32\regsvr32 dxplugname.dll

Substitute c: for your boot drive letter if you're one of those weirdos.

That did it!

I had to run command prompt as administrator, then change directories to the folder containing Soundstage.ax and executed regsvr32 there... Finally it registered!

Thanks Gang!
