Vivian Stanshall. Got to love a guy who turns up for the first band meeting wearing check trousers, a Victorian frock coat, violet pince-nez glasses, and carrying a euphonium. He also wore large pink rubber ears.

Yes, but who among us hasn't done this?

The flame of the famous musician-superstar has proven to be somewhat short in the scheme of things. You just can't burn that bright forever. I hope that they would be relaxing and enjoying life, making their own schedule and creating at a more comfortable speed. With the advent of internet markets, they could have accomplished a lot o their own.

If you're buring the candle from both ends, aren't you afraid of getting burnt by holding it in the middle?

Well, we all know what Beethoven's been doing these last many years... Decomposing!

(Can you imagine what he would think of today's synthesizers?  Oh wait, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure already tried that...)

He also took a  record company advance and spent it making rabbit hutches.

Whenever you're ready Mosh, fire away.
I like his work a lot ... very vivid and clear for me. And it's even funnier when you hear things like "We're Normal" and realize that it is a satire on the play Marat/Sade ... and I learned that one via a Bonzo bootleg that had them doing a couple of songs over pieces of the play.  And of course, the ultimate theme song ... "The Strain" which has to be sequed into "Our Song" by Roger Waters and Ron Geesin ... in case we do not get the "heavy meaning" because we used a DAW!

He was not the only one to do that btw ... that play shows up in The Beatles, Black Sabbath, ELP, King Crimson, and others ... and still, is, for me, the perfect proof that what became known as "progressive" was about the art of it, not a definition of the music ... which in itself was a representation of the emotions of the time and place!

Album I need to get? .. .Roger Ruskin-Spear's Unusual ... and do not tell Bapu about that falsetoo version of the Pinball Wizard ... he will call me a liar! Have not looked recently, though.

But none of us carried a sign that asked which one of us was stoned senseless and immaculate!

Hehehehe!
