hi all,
i am a new Artist user. old Cakewalk user from decades ago.

i have been looking for a decent channel strip VST plugin since i can't justify going to a higher version of sonar.

MixControl Pro looks pretty nice and gets raves.

any other suggestions?

thanks,
fred

I don't know why its more cost effective to purchase a plugin when an upgrade to Platinum will get you a ton of plugins as well as some truly neat features.

i will probably keep searching for more affordable plugins.

i can't justify the $499 or $49/mo compared to $99 or $9/mo for my current project.

hmmm... reaper has some free plugins that look good for processing.

the ReaPlugs VST FX Suite.

and it's free. i switched from Reaper to Sonar due to some issues.
plus i like Sonar's midi and scoring.

will try tonight.

The Sonar Platinum included vst´s are
really good .
If you like to have the best payware, i recommend
the Slate Digital VMR, the Waves SSL 4000 or UAD .

If you're not against an a la carte approach, the Sonitus plug-ins may be old, but they're very effective.

I remain a huge fan of the Sonitus plug-ins. They're extremely versatile and some have features no other plugs have. You might also want to check out "Friday's Tip of the Week" for some suggestions on how to use Sonitus plug-ins, like the tip on creating a super-gentle/transparent compressor, or the one on a guitar sustainer. The Sonitus EQ can also make a great pop filter...they're very cool. Use the Sonitus plugs, and save your money for something else!

My favorite channel strip is probably Waves SSL, but they will cost more than an upgrade to Platinum. You can get very good results with the tools in Platinum.

Dan
