Hello All-

In your opinion, where would be the best place to locate third-party libraries used in Kontakt which in turn is used as a Sonar Plugin?

I have the Kontakt 5 Player installed and running okay so far as a Sonar plugin. Now I want to add some libraries: Specifically the Vir2 BASiS virtual instrument for starters, and will soon add Chris Hein Horns Compact.

I have a second HD (D:) on my computer, which is where I keep my Sonar projects. I'm thinking that this might be a good place for these libraries - but would like to hear what others are doing.

Opinions, suggestions welcome!

Thanks-

For optimal performance, you would want to get a third drive that would be dedicated to any streaming sample libraries in your collection. It may not be necessary for smaller projects, but for larger ones, there is definitely a benefit.

Indeed the best place in on a third drive.

Once the libraries are installed back that drive up to an external drive, saves having to reinstall all those DVDs in the event that the drive fails.

I use a WD Black 1TB HD drive which copes really well with tons of streaming, if you can afford it go SSD.

Well, for now I put it in my second hard drive. Seems to be working okay. Time will tell.
