Hi Guys
I want to do some voice over on a short movie. I added the video to my sonar platinum but even without adding any VST or something else, when I press play it takes 2 or 3 second to play also it happens for stop too. The video is not high resolution. Is this behave normal? Is there any device or advice to make this delay almost zero? Because after I added some tracks and VST, this delay increased to almost 8-9 second which is not suitable for fast working. Each play and pause cause about 16-18 second delay together.
Thanks for any help in advance

Hi. I wonder if it could be the video format you are using? Which format do you use? Do you have the latest driver for your graphic card? Sorry to be of no more help.
Best of luck.

If you do a lot with video you might want to get Vegas movie studio
It was built off of sound forge so it audio friendly and under $100

I score music to video and have on sonar since 2000
I've tried most file types....always had trouble with anything but avi files
They haven't upgraded the way sonar handles video usage in over 10 years I'm sorry to say, at least that I can tell
I usually have to write the music in sonar then transfer it to Vegas to put the final touches on it and do any editing

Suggestion...download Vegas movie studio trial, load your movie, render as avi, load it in sonar and see if it fixes your problem...and it doesn't cost anything...

Thanks Danny. You Rock. Your advice seems worked. now I can say there is almost no delay to play and stop.
I really appreciate. Do you know if I work on this version of the video, I mean AVI and Export the voice over or music, it will be sync with the original video?
