Does anyone know why newly recorded tracks will sometimes go out of sync with the rest of the project?  In my case, it's always one bar delayed.  This has happened on and off over my years of using Sonar.
 
Scenario.   Working on a project with both midi and audio tracks.  Various vst effects and instruments used.  Everything locked together timing wise.   Go to record the next guitar part, and afterwards, the recorded track is exactly one bar delayed from the rest of the project.  I have to manually drag the recorded track back one bar, to make it line up with everything else.
 
During the recording, the displayed waveform looks to be correctly aligned, but when I press stop, the track jumps forward on bar.
 
Any ideas?

FYI.  This also happens with other types of tracks.  Especially frustrating on vocal comp track, when all the vocal comp tracks jump one bar ahead, after recording.

Looks like you are using the Quad capture based on your signature. You should be using the ASIO drivers for that in SONAR so make sure that is set correctly in Preferences  | Playback & Recording.
 
It sounds like SONAR may be using the wrong value for the ASIO Latency Adjustment. Go to Preferences and turn ON the [Advanced] button, Then select "Sync and Caching". At the bottom of the page there is a tick box for Use ASIO Reported Latency. Make sure this is ON and that the value matches the total round trip latency for your device under Preferences | Driver Setting at the bottom.
 
I have used the Quad & Octa Capture a bunch over the years and haven't run into this issue so I'm guessing there is a setting in SONAR that is not configured correctly.
 
It might also be worth it to get the latest drivers if you haven't downloaded new ones since you first got the device.

I have the Quad Capture, and it has happened to me at various times.  I will make sure I select sync and caching.

I checked my settings in Sync and Caching, and there is a check mark in the Use ASIO Reported Latency box.  The reported latency of 990 samples roundtrip also matches the Quad Capture driver.

At 990 samples roundtrip (really?!), what are your buffer settings? At 44.1Khz that's like 22ms? Definitely not even near a whole measure but still pretty high for tracking. 
Are you sure you're in ASIO mode and using the latest driver? Have you ever used ASIO4ALL on your system? (don't!) 

I record in 96k.  At my current ASIO driver settings, I'm getting 5.0ms in (480 samples) and 5.3ms out (510 samples) for a total roundrtip of 10.3ms (990 samples)
