hi
I am just double checking here first.  I am planning on purchasing some sound series for a company called "Boulder".  They state that  the sounds are formatted in "Kontakt 2 / EXS24".  How would I import these sounds into Sonar Platinum? if possible.  Thanks,

You should have Kontakt. Bolder Sounds are known for quality sound samples. Kontakt 5 is a sampler and is the most popular one around.

Thank you John but can Kontakt be integrated into Sonar for tracking and production?

many of boulder's libraries are also available as SFZ which would save you buying Kontakt ;-)

btw, Kontakt comes with a massive factory library, so if you do go for it, check you're not duplicating sounds you already have

Yes I use Kontakt on virtually all of my songs.

If the sounds that you want to use require the full version of Kontakt then you will need said version.  Some sounds can also be used on the free Kontakt Player.  All companies tell which version of Kontakt their products can be used.

Note that if you want to tweak the sounds then you will need the full version.  Plus the full version comes with a ton of patches.  Investigate which version you will either need or want.

good luck and have fun

I think this was answered but just to emphasize it Kontakt works very well with Sonar. Its a multi voice sampler meaning you can load a lot of instruments in it and have MIDI on various tracks trigger it all within Sonar.

To many its the only sampler you may need but even if you want to use others its a good starting point for many sounds that are kind of bread and butter for most DAW users. Its not a basic sampler either. It can import just about any sample format. Plus it is a real sampler in that one can create there own sample sounds with it.  Its really unlimited.

So the answer is absolutely it can.

In its simplest form - Kontakt is a VST plugin.
