Troll?

Nah, just someone a bit confused about how MIDI and audio tie together, track routings and such. As were we all at one time, everyone has to start somewhere and a modern DAW is about as complex as software gets from a user point of view.

In some ways those of us who came across MIDI when it was a new idea, recording = tape and you had maybe a couple of compressors, a few fx and a mixer had much less of a learning curve to deal with.

Not a troll. Success! I followed this link. http://blog.cakewalk.com/...-your-addictive-drums/

I bet someone posted that link earlier and I was too frustrated to pay attention. Sorry if that's true.
And everything is working fine. I have the drums on separate tracks and am renaming the rows in the step sequencer. Should finish up tonight. I don't think I had 'Accept MIDi input' checked when I previously tried to save to multiple tracks. There's like 8 different snare sounds - I always felt the snare sounds was the bane of early drum machines. Thanks everyone.

Well, Anthony... man up and retitle this thread... your anger was misplaced and the title should reflect this.

I will, but I really don't think my anger was misplaced. Forum searches, community boards etc. - could be better. Those instructions should have been right with the products. They would sell more.

Yes you do need to change the title. Your anger is misplaced. What you have seen here is a forum that has worked its magic on your behalf. But it isn't magic. It is hard work where members went out of their way to spoon feed you the answer. The answer was there all along. You just didn't know where to look. If you had done the tutorials, read the manual and taken it step by step you would have not been angry and this thread would not have happened.

The members wanted you to see what they see.  A great program beautifully designed to make one's work easier and simple to do. I have watched the members here do their very best to explain it to you in various ways hoping one would strike you as a light being turned on. That kind of dedication is uncommon. But it is common place on this forum.

In the past and on other forums RTFM would have been the response. Not here, Not now. Rather people not only gave you the answer but did so with good cheer and using tools not often offered.

Yes you need to change the title and you need to thank everyone that contributed. You also need to thank goodness for this forum!

At least add [SOLVED] to the title.

Well... technically he still may not like Sonar because he hasn't had a chance to fully test it. Probably unfair of him to have made that statement BEFORE actually putting it through the paces but still it could turn out that after fully learning the program he would prefer something else.

That is more of a subjective assessment only he can make but at this point he really does not have all the necessary info to make that assessment.

I would suggest maybe in the meantime the title at least be changed to... "Not sure if like Sonar Professional, but still testing/learning".

Gotta say though... he sure got a pile of free tutoring with the squeaky wheel method. Perhaps that was the plan all along.

Keep at 'er, Anthony. Based on what you claim your needs are you're gonna like it once you get over the hump.

I'm gonna cogitate on whether I will rescind my suggestion.
