Been doing various work where I selected time range of project for cutdown exports as test, and you had to do quite a few tries before getting there - doing a 30s export on a bunch of songs/projects:

a) start draging selection in ruler timeline
b) stop drag
c) go down and make loop from selection so you see start/end
d) estimate length subtracting end from start
e) repeat a-d, until you get there

I probably missed something, and would be glad to stand corrected this can be done in a simpler way.

So basically coordinates both in time and mbt for start and end of current selection somewhere, and also length for convenience.

Current cursor position is there now, which is nice - but felt like too many steps to do the above.

Thanks.

What you describe is why I always use bar-beat numbers in the Selection Module.   Of course if you aren't oriented to bars and dont have a score or lead sheet, it might not be possible.

Thanks, voted there - more thinking alike it seems.

If you as soon as you press mousebutton and drag get the start value and current length and end position - would be perfect. Just somewhere in gui, need not be loop/punchin spots.

Yes, there are quite a few of these that are gelling into broad interest items
