Well, Cakewalk by Bandlab apparently only has some 32 bit limitations
"Cakewalk by BandLab is a 64-bit only application. Your projects themselves will open in 64-bit Cakewalk, but if you're accessing 32-bit only plugins, you will need to keep a 32-bit install of your previous version of SONAR."

As far as I can see, there is still the 32-bit bridge in CbB that supports the use 32-bit plugins. Even if I have almost replaced all of my 32-bit plugins, I still have 2 ones that I like and use successfully. So the only reasons not to use CbB are:
  1. If you are still using a 32-bit OS.
  2. If you require offline activation.
  3. If you mistrust the new company for any reason.
  4. If you are satisfied with your Sonar version and don't like changes and challenges.

32 bit DX plug-ins do not get bridged - I'd like to see a DX "bitbridge" provided now there is no 32 bit version of CbB

You could try using dxshell: http://xlutop.com/buzz/zip/dxshell_v1.0.4b.zip

This wraps up 32bit DXi's as a VSTi.

It's known to work alongside JBridge: https://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/jbridge-troubleshooting/

Hi. I've been using CbB since its release. I still have SPlat installed, but haven't opened in a while.
Haven't had a reason to do so yet, as CbB works better for me than SPlat ever did.
And I never had any issues with going straight over to CbB.
All the best.

That allows me to use 32 bit plugins but it doesn't migrate ones in existing projects, which BitBridge does for VSTs.

I use both. And I noticed, CbB crashes more often than SPLAT ever did. I've got crashes with Pro Channel (Ca-2a), Playlists, but only in CbB , not in SPLAT. I'm a bit confused, since I read in this forum, CbB shouldt be  more stable . . . However, maybe it's my impatience. Maybe I do more mouseclicks than I shouldt do :) :)

Cheers :)

BTW: I never had any problems with crashes in SPLAT.

SPLAT = 25%
CbB = 75%
No problems with either.
All new projects are going to CbB

1. I would say the latest version of CbB is generally the most "stable" ... but I register there are many different opinions as to what is the most stable version. I have the impression that the CbB releases so fare have been mostly bug-fix related.

2. I'm using both CbB and Platinum. Reason for this is two fold. First by also having the latter installed, you gain features otherwise lost in CbB. Secondly, there is no 32-bit version of CbB ... and I have projects that are heavily dependent on older 32-bit plugs ... and theses seem to work better in the 32-bit Platinum version.

I use the CbB version as that is the coming thing, and I'm curious to see it's development. Particularly how the connection with BandLab and on-line publishing and collaboration will turn out.
