Apparently these guys 'Loomis and The Lust' are going to get all legal with Jessie J.

Here's their song;

Bright Red Chords

Here's Jessie's

Domino

..and here some clever clogs has pitch shifted the first to match the 2nd;

Bright Red Chords vs Domino

What d'ya reckon?

Did not someone once observe that there are in fact only thirteen notes including the octave?

Is this a case of one is making money and the other ain't?

Sad?

The good news is that if the music business continues on its current trajectory, in a few years nothing will be making any money, and the lawyers will abandon this kind of lawsuit altogether. You do not ever hear of an infringement lawsuit involving published poetry. That genre went to the pay-to-publish-your-own-chapbook model in the day of Robert Frost.
