If you use the Draw tool in midi and you hover over a midi note, the cursor turns into what looks like a little glue tube. If you click, it takes up the properties of that note and applies them to the next note you draw.
 
I like this feature a lot. I have not found it documented anywhere in the help.
 
Problem: Sometimes, and with no reproducible steps that I can discern, it will delete all notes in a clip and leave one single note extending from the start to end.
 
If I then do an Undo, this note and all previous notes will be gone from that clip. I can basically rebuild the clip.
 
Has anyone had this phenomenon?

First of all, it is documented - read the documentation on the Freehand Tool. It is not intended to be used with Audio or MIDI clips. Check out the positional selection aspect of the tool to find out where to click to use the glue function and where to click to create new notes.

That isn't the Glue tool doing that. There is a default note property setting that has been changed from the default to "Last Touched". Very useful.

I found the description in the help, thanks Craig. The glue tube (I THOUGHT it was a bit big for a pipette/eye dropper!) symbol is not pictured anywhere. If you don't know what something is called, it's very difficult to find it in the help. This is a universal problem, not just Sonar.
 
So it seems the "last touched" feature has a random bug. Whenever it feels like it, it clears a clip of all notes and just makes one long note. I cannot reproduce it, but during a 1 hour session, it happened twice.

The "last touched" would not be the likely culprit, since it only remembers the note parameters by clicking on a note.
 
The "glue tool" could possibly be doing this, as it is intended to "meld" two notes together if of the same pitch and the cursor is "swiped" between the two. Are the notes in question all of the same pitch and butted together?

No, it is a midi drum track with all drums in the same track (just a demo at this point).
 
Yes, I read how to glue notes together, but no, I just touch a note and occasionally I get this phenomenon.
 
These are drum notes. I set them to 36 ticks in length, so none of the notes are ever the full length of a clip, and there are bass drum, snare, hihat, toms - so there are notes at all levels.

It does sound a little like a Pebkac error.

Where can this 'last touched' feature be changed?
