This stuff is EASY........
So is Japanese... to someone who grew up in Japan.

Or possibly to little kids who get exposed to Japanese early in life. I'm not very young! It's very, very hard to teach my fingers new tricks.

That said, I'll give the drum map a shot on my next song. Although I still have some issues with drum maps in X2:

This is still plaguing me in X2. I hate having to switch to a different tool just to get at the note properties.

Has anyone found an easier way to edit note properties when using the smart tool?

Double click for note properties. I don't know of an easier way than that - it doesn't get much simpler than double clicking though.

I'll second the motion to restore the old functionality that right-click opens note properties. Having to hear the note on double-click or look/mouse away to the Inspector from where you clicked to see/edit a parameter is a pain, and I have very little use for having delete be right at my fingertips with no modifier.

Time to start a feature request logging campaign. Squeaky wheel gets the grease in the bakery.

I like deleting with the right button as this is the way it's always been in Cakewalk's Kinetic, which I came from to X2.

I'd find it pretty awkward to have to use two hands, or more mouse manoeuvres.

There's something worrisome about a musician who finds it awkward to use two hands to do something

Just kidding. I understand everyone prefers what he's accustomed to. That's why having been right-clicking to get note properties since some time in the early nineties makes the new behavior disconcerting to me.

To accommodate varying personal preferences on this, it will probably need to be an option. Ideally, they would restore some level of PRV Tool Customization in general - another long-time feature that went missing with X1.

I've noticed from reading experiences like yours that functions in Sonar never stop evolving whether or not it's really necessary :-)
I can fully understand the frustration of having something pulled from under your feet.
It looks like Cakewalk is more into targeting new users that keeping old users happy.

It's really strange when old functionality makes a reappearance. The 'new' scroll/zoom funcionality in Sonar was also present in Kinetic 10 years ago.

I change note properties far more often than I delete notes, and usually do so during playback. That why I'd like the command to change note properties to be convenient as possible.

Right click was easier/faster than double-click, and didn't have the side effect of playing the note, which is distracting during playback.

I really wish Cakewalk would listen to us old-timers and give us the ability to map mouse-clicks to functions. If they can do it for the keyboard, why can't they do it for the mouse?

Does SonarPlus or another plugin/wrapper allow us to customize mouse behavior?

Right click bringing up object properties has been standard windows behavior for years. But its all changing, not just Sonar.

I hate right click deleting. I am one of those people who would rather answer a couple of "are you sure" challenges than save half a second. Thank god for undo.

Is there a way to change the properties of several notes at one time by selecting them in multiples (eg lassooing them)?  For example, grab a group of notes and make them all the same length or change their MIDI channel.
