  • [Solved] Sony Sound Forge Pro 11 Crashing after latest SPLAT Update?

Is anyone else having this problem and/or does anyone have a clue how to fix it?  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the SF program with no luck.  I have an email in to Sony support.

Sony's website talks about the need for recent versions of  Microsoft Visual C++ and .NET Framework updates and I saw in a thread here recently mention of the fact that some sort of updates of these files was included in the latest SPLAT update.  Maybe there is a connection?  Could that be the problem?

Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks,
Bill

Hmm. Strange. I'm still on SF10 here and it's plugging along as bulletproof as ever, with Sonar and W10 fully up to date... but of course that's not much help to you. Hopefully someone else on SF11 can help?

Are you using it with Sonar? When is it crashing when you start it or when you have a wave file loaded? I have it and it runs fine. I did have to remove a VST that caused it to hang on scan. It was I think Kontakt.

Sound Forge 11 happily co-existing with SONAR Platinum 16.03 here.

Sorry, forgot to check back on this.  Thanks for your answers.  John, I wasn't using it in SONAR, it just wouldn't open when I wanted to load a wave file, tweak a mix and create an MP3.

I found help on the Sony SoundForge website.  Had to do a full uninstall including regedits before re-installing.  Working fine now.
