Most 32bit ones seem to work.  However, there are exceptions.  I've never been able to get Drum Core 3 to work properly (it crashes every single time you try to close Sonar and will not let you save the project.  X3 Producer.

The above is for DrumCore 4, which is a 64-bit newer version of DrumCore.  This may fix your crashing problems if you can upgrade to this and install it in 64-bit mode.

I hope that helps,

I don't think DC4 is out yet, Bob. They've been beta testing for the Mac, but I don't believe they're doing anything for Windows users yet. It's been on a preorder status for a couple years now.:(

Good grief.

WOW - Sorry for my being such a tease on that then - it had just occurred for me to look to see if there was a 64-bit version out there, and I got trigger happy when I saw the product page.  It hadn't seemed like vaporware.  My mistake.

Yep, unusual situation where they have literally had a pre-order for it for a couple years.  They are Mac Beta testing now.  (and as a Windows user, don't even care about that).

Great sounding software, but also find it sad having to upgrade to get 64bit support...especially with this kind of wait.  Don't need any new features or sounds personally, I just need it to work in a modern environment.

I have done some searching with Google for DrumCore 3 crashing in 64-bit, and some folks had reported success getting it to run in 64-bit hosts by launching the host with Run As Administrator (not the same thing as just having a User with Admin privileges).  They also were using JBridge, and some reported turning off Windows UAC (User Account Control) (I don't recommend turning of UAC, by the way).

So, it might be worth:

1) Trying out JBridge's free demo
2) Right-clicking on the Sonar launch icon and using Run As Administrator
3) IF it doesn't work using the above, you could try again, first turning off UAC, as a test

Brian, I would recommend giving jbridge one more try, using the latest version. There was an version not long ago that didn't work well, so I reinstalled an earlier version that always worked great for Kitcore. Try the latest release, and if that doesn't work, try version 1.5. That version was always rock solid for me. I hope it works!
