I'm just a guitar player in a cover band. I don't know much about synths. I own all the cakewalk synths (I think). Is there an exchange for presets to match sounds to songs. For example the syth sound for Van Halen - Jump is one I have to figure out how to match. Does anyone have any info on this or would anyone with more know how than me be willing to help me make patches?

the original synth for that specific sound was an oberheim (I have that sound in reason, someone made (lizard) made an oberheim patch lib for it) a lot of synths have sound-a-likes with altered names that obv. point to the original, but obviously don't.

depends what synths you are using, I'm guessing the closest for that ob sound would be perhaps z3ta or rapture.. there are some packs for the newer z3ta that have some old school sounds.
