I track my guitar amps with two mics, a 57 and a R121 all the time.  I make sure alignment and gain match.  I recorded a solo last night, when done - the wave forms matched in volume.  SOMEHOW, through an accident on my part,  I made a gesture (I use a touch screen a bunch) over one of the waves - I do not know what I did or how it translated into the problem. It caused the wave to redraw - and the redraw maxed the wave image as if it was saturated to +12 throughout the entire image.   The output volume however, DID NOT CHANGE.  Just the wave form.  I tried re-drawing the individual track, then all tracks in the project - to no avail.

Its only a nuisance - it plays back FINE.  But - might any of you have a possible reason, and maybe a solution?

Thanks and take care...

The waveform display can be changed by clicking and dragging up or down on the db scale of the audio track.

Yep. That's what I think happened too.

Gotta watch those fingers! Sometimes I do stuff on my Surface and my fingers are just hovering ever so slightly above the screen, but it will register sometimes anyway!! And that's when the crazy stuff happens!! You don't know what you just did!!
