I need some nice tubular bells samples.  Think 70's era Rush--that giant bell tree that Neil Peart has behind his kit?  That sound.  Is there anything included in Sonar?  Dim Pro has a set, but they sound pretty bad.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

The "z3ta+ Classic Content" has a tubular bells patch that should be available (and tailor-able) in z3ta+ or Z3TA+2 (maybe Rapture Pro, but not sure on that one). I did a search on "bells" in Z3TA+2 and there are a few others, but that specific patch should have come with SONAR.

Try Chromaphone 2 by A|A|S. You can demo it for free. Bank "9. Chimes and Bells", Program "22. Platubular Bells". There are a number of other great sounding programs in that bank. The full d/l is only 28 MB. AAS' instruments are all modeled, not sampled. Very expressive. Chromaphone is first rate.

But be careful! If you like it half as much as I do, you'll wind up with AAS GAS! I'm not kidding. I've got all of their instruments except Tassman. But that's only a matter of time.

Do you have Kontakt? There are two decent tubular bell patches (wood and metal) in the factory content.

Those are some nice sounding samples! Did not know they existed. Took me awhile to find.

Great choices.  I have the free Kontakt, but the tubular bells are not really what I'm looking for.  Not the round, dull/sweet sound I'm picturing.  They were really metallic and kinda grainy.  Also, I don't really understand Kontakt and it seems there are only 8 samples available and I am too uneducated to manipulate them.

Anyway, when I get home I'll check out the rest.  Thanks!

If you could get to grips with Kontakt, Bolder Sounds does a free set of samples of Tibetan Prayer Bowls. Not Tubular Bells exactly, but a very round, resonant bell sound, and you can tweak the warmth or brightness of them very easily. Otherwise, I agree that AAS Chromaphone (which uses modelling, not sampling) would be well worth a try.

+ 1 Chromaphone 2. You don't need to spend money on a whole synth (btw I have it and think it is awesome), get a free player plus c.$39 sound packs. Also check Sample Tank 3 - it has great TBs and Neil Peart drumkits.

I grabbed the free Chromaphone demo, and that was big mistake.  Great idea for the song I'm working on, terrible for my wallet.  That thing is awesome!
