Usually I am an old griper and complain alot... Age, cynicism, all that jazz.
But I just wanted to share some rare oldskool joy for a change.
I'll start with some gripe. I'm not overly keen on everything being "in the box" so I am not thrilled every time there is something like Landr or this new "analogue" synth thing or whatever. Its good for the starters but for seasoned old timers like me its a bit "meh" (I do however LOVE the Pro channel)
BUT! At its core Sonar is still a workhorse beast.... I have recently gone back to my roots (probably like many others) and have cashed in on this new wave of cheap but mighty analogue instruments flooding the market (Korg, Arturia etc) and with that comes a demand in having something very stable in the centre of the studio.
Sonar (and Windows) has been absolutely brilliant in coping with the very many analogue and midi devices that I am throwing at it in terms of sync/clock, automation and track handling. Its still my platform after all these years and the way Sonar can handle pretty much what ever I throw at it is testament to the root of the software.
So, a toast to Cakewalk....(but please sort out OMF support :P )
