I'm trying to remember the name (soundstage?)... It was way ahead of it's time with room adjustments and positioning elements (player/mics) within the room...

I was always pushing for more developement, b ut alas it never came... Instead, ot got dropped... <sigh>...

Well... Now we're behind as Eventide has now released T Verb which is Tony Visconti's three microphone technique used with David Bowie on "Heroes" at Hansa Studios, Berlin

What up?

Yeah, I'm looking forward to checking out Tverb.

The one you're asking about though is this... Cakewalk Audio FX 3 Soundstage
http://blog.cakewalk.com/cakewalk-offers-free-synths-fx-plugins/

It's no longer available.

Thanks Scott...

Yeah, that's it! I know I still have it around and I'm betting I still have it installed! ;-)

It was ahead of it's time and I'm hoping that someone has been tinkering with it backstage at Cakewalk and going to surprize us soon! I'd love to checkout the Eventide T Verb, but these days it will be a long wait for cash to do so.... But I look forward to your review!

I love that plugin. I even went so far as to wrap it with a DX to VST wrapper for 64 bit Sonar. I haven't done that for awhile but I would really like CW to reconsider bringing it up to date. No other plugin has the same sound.

Hi. I agree that it was way ahead of its time. IIRC I got them when using SONAR XL 2.2 (or was it PA9?). I even think I have it on a HD somewhere. It would be great to get it updated with "modern technology".
All the best.

I don't remember when it came out, but using Scott's link above, you can find it free from cakewalk...

A very special little gadget and nice to see someone (eventide) thought so too!

Cakewalk really should consider bringing this little puppy up to date!

I use that reverb as well, but my all time favorite was fx reverb. I stayed in 32 bit world a while longer just for that plug along with fx chorus. I finally left them behind after hours of tweaking other plugs to get similar results.

I remember that plugin too. I haven't used it since Sonar 6PE, but I loved it.

I think it would be pretty cool if Cakewalk put together and made available a package of legacy plugins, kind of like publishers of old video games do. I liked the manfully named Amp Sim a lot. I had to dig it out of some old versions and manually register it (it's a COM object) to make it work. It makes a strat just shimmer.

They're still around (old Cakewalk plugins) as I still have many....

I don't really use them anymore as I've found other solutions to my needs over the years.

I do my best to run fully 64bit, but if/when I need something from the old 32bit world, I still use it. For those I've used, I have very little trouble other than sometimes having Sonar crash when changing song-loaded. No damage done simply re-start Sonar...

But this one, the Soundstage plugin is so unique.... I used to use it often and forgot about it until I saw the Eventide Tverb release notice.... So I'm gonna look for Soundstage as it's probably still installed on my DAW...
