I just started implementing the auto-save feature every ten minutes on the odd chance I forget to save while working. I noticed something I don't understand though. Normally, when a project is in a changed-but-not-saved state, there's a little helpful asterisk next to the file name in the window title. It's great because I know I'm all saved up when that asterisk isn't there. However, I see that when the file is auto-saved, that asterisk doesn't go away. I've noticed this a few times, where I'm not doing anything and I see auto-save kick in, but then the file still looks unsaved by the presence of that asterisk. What's the thinking behind that, am I misunderstanding something?

My guess would be the asterisk indicates the project in memory is different than the project on disk. Auto-save does not affect the project on disk instead it creates a separate auto-save version of the project.

I think Steve is correct here. Also, you may want to be aware that autosave does not work if the transport is running (although if an autosave is overdue when the transport stops, it will happen immediately then).
