  • Lost my Piano Roll View - where's it hiding?

Hi - I'm sure this is very silly but somehow I got 'machine gun finger' with my mouse and suddenly my piano roll view disappeared and cannot be found.  Editing a midi track and trying everything to locate piano roll but no luck.  Obviously tried the menu and shortcut options to see if it pops up.  Minimized all my other views (track, console, etc) to see if it's hiding.  No luck.  If it's docked somewhere, I can't find it.

Am sure there is a quick answer to this.  Been trying for an hour, even searched forum but my search function is giving errors.

Any quick help?

Thanks very much

Thanks, that's how I always access Piano View Roll, but no soup this time.  It always pops up below my track view but I got nothing now.  Pretty sure I messed up settings or something with mouse double clicks but not sure what happened.  Any way I can default back to my usual view settings?

Perhaps you have pulled down some windows pane ? maybe try a different screen set ?

Its probably minimized. Look for a small window below. If you use dual displays, check the other display.

Thank you.   I found it.  It was minimized and hidden outside the margins of my second monitor.  Mystery solved.

Cheers

You could also try selecting a different screenset. Should be a small box that says screensets with a variety of different preset viewing for the program to operate in ....... that will usually make the piano roll pop up because the screenset moves it back to a preset destination.

I know this is now solved but just click the dropdown in the screensets module and select "Revert Screenset"

I created this script with Autohotkey to easily switch between single video monitor, extended video monitor and even to turn off all monitors.

;------------------ Ctrl+0: TURN OFF ALL VIDEO MONITORS
^0::
Sleep, 500
SendMessage,0x112,0xF170,2,,Program Manager
return

;------------------ Ctrl+1: SET A SINGLE VIDEO MONITOR
^1:: Run displayswitch.exe /internal

;------------------ Ctrl+2: SET EXTENDED VIDEO MONITORS
^2:: Run displayswitch.exe /extend
