Since we're talking about the MCU, can you use the MCU to trim regions? Like let's say I want to chop down a region from 4 bars to two by editing the start & end points, then turning the new region into a groove clip.

Preferably faster than it would take to do it with the mouse.

Hi to all. i've read the entire post and i didn't find how to control the vst instruments that Steve asked in first place. only vst. Maybe bikerboy can explain how to use it with vstinstruments. i have mcu pro and c4 pro recently adquired. There's nothing about it on manual and on sonar online help manual. Thankx in advance.

I don't think you can control VSTi with it. AFAIK that would need to be done via ACT which you can't do with an MCU. I don't know about the C4 as I don't have one. You'd need to use it in a different mode to Mackie emulation.
 
I use other (ACT) surfaces for VSTi control. Sorry that's probably not much help. Maybe another C4 owner will know different.

I really can't understand why cakwalk doesn't develop mackie control at full extension on sonar because it really works well on cubase protools, etc. And why we just have control on plugins and not on instruments? So i have to buy another controller to do automation on instruments when i could controll all with mackie? I have that Controller (novation remote zero) and it's very good, but all i wanted was one controller for all. I thought i could sell my novation, it seems i was wrong. When you read mackie site info about mcu you get the ideia that you could do it.... I guess it's misleading advertising.

To control ProChannel EQ, simply drag it to the top of the ProChannel. You get access to EVERY parameter when you do that.  :-O
