still hoping for instructions on how to upgrade to Windows 10
I have my Product KEY for windows 7 & have the windows 10 disc image ISO file on a blank USB drive.
What do I do now to complete the windows 10 upgrade - please give idiot proof step by step instructions :)

I hope someone has the time to walk you thru it.
If you don´t know how to mount that ISO file then I suggest to just burn a DVD with ISO capable burning software (meaning it is creating original files and not just another ISO image). Or maybe MS Media Creation Tool can do that, I have not checked that.. Then put it in your DVD drive, restart the computer and installation should start.
Backup everything important first!

i've used this url on 2 machines in the past week, no messing about with keys etc, just visit the url on the machine you want to upgrade

thx that's the same page I already got the ISO from.
And I just found instructions well hidden there on what to do next :)

I had Daemon Tools Lite installed. This will create virtual drives on your computer that you can use to mount the ISO on your USB drive. Just be sure to pay attention to the install so it doesn't install any third-party applications. It allows you to opt out of all of them with a simple check box. Also, you only need the free version to do the install. Reboot after you install Daemon Tools, and just double-click the ISO on the drive. This should mount the ISO and begin the process of installation. Also, remember to back up anything critical on your drive. I unhooked all the SATA cables from my drives except the one that I was installing Win 10 on. It should be as simple as following the prompts in the install once it gets going.
