I record at very conservative levels and then normalize the result before getting to work.
Recently I have taken to marking all tracks and normalizing the lot in one go to save time.
This method creates one huge WAV file in the gigabyte size range.
If I do a Save As to a new Windows folder (trick to remove unused clips), all I have is this one huge file. No other files are copied. It has the name of one of the clips and with ", Edit" appended to the file name.
I opened it in a 3rd party editor and discovered it contains all tracks concatenated one after the other.
If I delete it and restart Sonar, Sonar asks me to find the files for the track clips.
I noticed Sonar also becomes stuttery in all its functions.
Why does Sonar bundle all tracks into one file? (Question more for the Bakers, I suppose...)
