I had some internet outages.
In this times were I had no internet, Sonar Platinum needs 2 minutes to start and starts then in Demo-mode.
A few hours later Internet was back, and Sonar starts as normal (Status owned).
A few hours later Internet was gone again - and Sonar was immediately again in DEMO-Mode.
When Internet fails Sonar needs 2 minutes to open. I have experienced this several times.
I have paid for one year.

Adobe allows 30 days without an internet connection to check the account.
So is this possible that Sonar needs a permanent internet connection on every start?

Hi. Did you install via CCC? Are you using the latest version of CCC Are you on monthly or annual payment? If on monthly, the pc needs to have access to internet (IIRC) at the end of the month to check status. No need to be online otherwise. If on yearly payment, you should not have to be online until the subscription expires, besides activating it (if not done in offline mode). If none of this is relevant, I would contact support.
All the best.

I have annual payment and I have Sonar installed via CCC and I installed always the newest version.
If I turn of internet Sonar needs 2 minutes for the start (searching internet?) and is immediately in DEMO-mode.
I have a second installation on my laptop. There is the same problem.

There seems to be a problem when internet outages happen because I experienced the same just 3 days ago.

I never had a problem before because I usually only go online to install and then unplug LAN cable until the next update - always worked fine. This time I had the www connection active as I was still intending to install the instrument collection when internet outage happened - which I did not really notice apart from really slow download progress so I killed CCC because imminent start of a session ... and then - Sonar in DEMO MODE @ session start. not good. several restarts of router, switch, etc. later and 20 minutes lost I got Sonar back ...

No matter what happens - Sonar must not revert to DEMO mode at all for any purchased version. What's the point? Once your annual subscription expires, you don't qualify for further updates, but what is installed is paid and owned.

Any codes when you were in demo mode?  Have been working on this for the next update due to some problem reports of a similar issue.

Downloading a new CCC or update anything via CCC will always kill my internet connection for the entire household and my FireFox until data transfer is over. I don't know if this is related to what RehabRob was describing but it's been this way since all this rolling updates have been going on. Just a fact of life here.

You're in the boonies. It used to be that way here, but we managed to go high speed a few years ago.
