Hey all.  I'm currently running Windows 7 64-bit and love it, although I know that eventually support for this OS will be gone and I'll have to upgrade to Windows 10.  I AM running Windows 10 on a second PC, and although the interface takes a little getting used to, it does make that old machine a bit snappier.  However, that PC isn't used as a DAW and doesn't have anything connected to it, so I'm a little iffy on upgrading my primary PC.

That being said, I'd rather upgrade to Windows 10 while it's still free, so I'm wondering if any of you who use the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 have made the upgrade, and if you've run into any issues.  The Focusrite website does state that VIA firewire chipsets have demonstrated some connectivity issues with the Saffire, but they include a link to an OHCI tool that will evaluate your system and determine if your chipset is compatible.  I've run that tool and everything looks good; however, I'd still prefer to get some actual feedback from Saffire users who've made the upgrade.

I have the VIA chipset and I'm screwed (tried it) so not running Sonar on Windows 10. Have contacted Focusrite only recently about it and they just repeat the same official line about it being their "top priority". In the meantime they release a beta without a fix here:

If the tool states it is compatible it's probably good to go however.

Cheers.

Youch, that sucks.  I hear you on the whole "top priority" thing.  That blurb has been on their website for months (or however long Windows 10 has been out) and you'd think this would be something they'd want to nail down.

Any chance you ran that OHCI tool before upgrading to see what it said?  Or did you just throw caution to the wind and upgrade under the assumption everything would work?
