Hi all,

Introducing new 64-bit Distortion / Fuzz Pedal emulators

BMBF and BMAFB

Please see the following thread at KVR Audio forum for details:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 6&t=493425

Edited to add:

If you find that parameter settings are not correctly saved with projects, please rename the affected dll from extension .dll to extension .vst3 and move it to the 64-bit standard VST3 location, typically:

c:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Update

All software has been re-released on KVR Audio only as VST3 because the wrapped VST3 versions (with extension .dll acting as VST2) were not working properly to store/restore parameter values (e.g. knob settings) for many hosts.  As long as you have a version of SONAR that accepts VST3 such as X3 onward, you should no longer have this problem.

Dave Clark

Good stuff. Also check out Dave's excellent LG2Amp, especially if you're into cleaner amp sims or just want to dirty up some vocals.

Dave - Grem,

Thanks guys for trying them out.  Please do email me if you find any problems or have any comments.

Do either of you (or anyone else) have need for VST2 versions? The reason I ask is:

There is a long-standing problem with VST2 SDK that programmers could get around, but now that the functions are officially part of VST2Wrapper inside of VST3 SDK (and not consistent with the way some DAW hosts load projects), I'm reluctant to mess around with them.  Basically, it appears that the official VST2 wrapper is a no-go, so I would be required to redo the plugins entirely under some VST2 methodology, and I don't want to do that, either.

Dave

On Edit:  There was a bug in the VST2Wrapper code in version 3.6.6 of the VST3 SDK distributed by Steinberg.  Parameters were incorrectly mapped between VST3 and VST2.  Steinberg fixed this in version 3.6.7, and I adapted this parameter-passing code into 3.6.6.  Once I'm confident that I didn't introduce other problems, I plan to release all of my plugins as VST2/VST3 again.
