Opened a project yesterday and got an error message along these lines regarding AD2 (can't remember exact wording);

''Wrong computer ID - check host for compatability error, or run XLN online installer to check compatibility''

Ran XLN online installer, which updated itself.

Reopened the project, error message didn't appear, but when I open AD2  I now have 'this instrument is in demo mode, 8 days remaining'

Checked in CCC and it shows AD2 with serial number all present and correct.

Thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling AD2, but thought I'd see if you guys have any ideas first about why this has happened.

Sonar Professional 64-bit, Windows 10. Checked 'run this program as administrator', same result.

Thanks in advance.

Hi. Have you checked at http://www.xlnaudio.com/myaccount-mycomputers to see if you need to remove old computer, as you only can have two active computers at the time. It will recognize a fresh install as a new pc. I had to remove my studio pc, when doing a fresh install, and add it again (I also have it on my laptop). Hope it helps.
All the best.

Thanks Ken, I did check there, and it tells me I've 'reached my maximum number of PC's', and shows 'Studio PC' twice, although I've only installed AD2 once, on one machine...confusing.

I would remove both, and add the one you are using again. A bit cumbersome, but I think / hope it will solve your problem.

This happened to me yesterday as well. I will try this fix tonight. Thanks.

I would like to know what's caused it. I'm guessing it may have something to do with a W10 update a week or so ago, but that's a stab in the dark.

I have had the same problem after Windows 10 updates!! It seems that every once in a while 10's updates blow out the XLN registrations on AD2 and AK. Follow instructions above and everything will be fine.

It seems as though Windows 10 "updates" are becoming increasingly intrusive, unfriendly and introducing instability in previously stable systems.

I feel the same, or at least on my laptop. It becomes weird on a far too regular basis. Or it could be me

If you get a new build release of Windows 10 the issue always occurs so you just need to delete the affected computer and add it in again sadly
