  • [Solved] Mackie Cntrl Surface and Sonar Platinum - Is it broken again (more than before)?

Hello everyone,
It has been some time since I have had the need to post anything here if the Sonar forum.

I have been a Sonar user for some time now.  Additionally, I have successfully been using a Tascam US2400 Control Surface (24 motorized faders) with sonar since Sonar 3 up to X3 with no issues.

Since I upgraded to Sonar Platinum my faders no longer respond as normal.  What I mean by this is that Mute, solo, Pan all work as you would expect. However, if I move a channel slider on the CS nothing happens.  If I click on the slider, within the software, with my mouse the slider on my CS will physically move.  Bank Switching no longer functions as normal.

What gives?  Anyone else having using MCU with their CS of choice having issues.

Thanks in advance,
Rich

I have a Tascam FW-1884. I used to use Native FW-1884 mode with Sonar but switched to Mackie control mode when I got Cubase (no native mode in cubase) so I could run Sonar and Cubase without switching control surface modes. There are a few differences in button functionality (rewind to start no longer works) but Mackie mode works fine for faders, std transport buttons and bank switch. This applies up to Newburyport anyway.

I have not noticed any changes during X1-Platinum route. The plug-in itself (MackieControl) is also still the same.

Using Mackie Control on my X32 and Lemur - no changes here.

I use a Makie Control and there is no change. It works as it always has.

Exact the same problem here! I use the old Logic Control in Macky Control-mode. It did the job perfectly but since the Platinum-upgrade it refuses to listen to the faders!

How are you all that have problems connecting? I use MIDI only. Also have you checked the Mackie Control template under ACT in Sonar to be sure it is set up correctly? It defaults to some very odd settings.

Hello John,
I am connecting via the only option which is USB.

As I stated before, the CS works flawlessly in X3.  Confirmed this again last night just be sure.

What I do not understand is why everythig but the channel sliders are workin in Platinum as confirmed by jwp9350. I am experiencing this both under Win8.1 and Win10

Did you make sure the old control surface plug-in migrated to Platinum?

Did you check the setup in the ACT module in the Control Bar? If it is not using the faders it could be due to that not being set to do so.

To my understanding all MCs have MIDI din connectors.  The Mackie Control (Logic Control) the MCU and the MCU Pro all have the MIDI din connectors.
