+1 This is so going to become my number one feature. Can't wait to try. Thanks Bakers. This release alone will be worth my years payment.

Then try it :) The early access build is live. More details here.

I've been dreaming of a feature like this ever since I began recording (with a $23 mini reel-to-reel from the hardware store that came with a little gold clip-on lapel mic and a capstan to change speed).

Now, here it is. I can record without a click and have my measures line up tempo-wise for subsequent tracks, all without getting out of and getting back into Sonar or doing any other unmusical gymnastics.

Noel, do I win some sort of prize for Outstanding Patience? The Cakewalk Cup? :)

Thanks for this fantastic feature!

Couldn't find it in new CCC, so went to Products page and got it.

Thanks guys!

Is the early access edition supposed to run in "demo mode"? Mine came up this way....

mine isn't but I have had previous versions where this was an intermittent problem. Sometimes just quitting and restarting was enough to sort it out.

This updated SOnar is the quickest and snappiest one yet! I like how the analytics has been deployed too-- easy to change your options-- even to opt out if you so wish. I am going with the default currently.

Now if it will just stop crashing creating a Fx Region for melodyne.
I plan to update everything tonight, Sonar, Melodyne essential and see how it goes. :-)

Is this in the early access release or in Newburyport? There are a bunch of ARA fixes in the new build as well.
Let me know ASAP if the crash occurs in the latest update. You can download it via the rollback menu in command center.

I'll let you know Noel.

There was a sad thread going for awhile about Melodyne 4 crashing Sonar, I'm sure you saw it.
In my case it was the M update. I never put Newberryport on the DAW as it didn't look like the
Melo 4 crash 0xC0000005 upon region fx create in my case, was addressed.

It in encouraging to hear there was some work in ARA.

This is *exactly* one of the powerful use cases of tempo extraction. You can record live and then sync other tracks in the project, including loops and virtual instruments to the tempo map of the live recording. It makes it a lot easier when the measures line up with the recording...

I wanted to mention that if you have audio clips that don't start at the beginning or midi clips, you'll need to flip them to absolute time before applying the new audio.

On another note, any improvements in remove silence?

Not yet, and I keep monitoring it as well...would save me time when doing video narration for videos. So if Cakewalk wants me to do more videos...   However, setting up the Sonitus gate and then applying it works pretty well for now.

Oh, and by the way...don't overlook the Analog Session synth just because the tempo thing is cool. The synth is a lot of fun.

That's actually what I'm looking forward to. The online demos of the full version are incredible, so hopefully most of that is included.
