Trying to create a groove quantise thing (SPLAT latest version), but there does not appear to be a "select clipboard" option in the Groove Quantise drop downs...the manual clearly states you can select the clipboard....

Can anyone advise further please?

Thanks

anyone? The manual clearly states this but gives no example of where or how it is loaded...

<Clipboard> should be the default in the Groove File field of  the Groove Quantize dialog (Process > Groove Quantize), and the clipboard is populated simply by copying the clip you want to use as the groove source.

I think you must have an audio clip or some other content in your clipboard. You need to have MIDI in the clipboard to use it as a Groove Quantize reference.

ahhh, yes I am using audio, but I read in the manual I could use an audio clip? Well at least I thought I did - I'll double check..

damn, I misread it - how do I get a midi file from an audio drum part... okay I'll need to investigate further. Thanks BF

The short answer is enable Audiosnap, and click the Copy As MIDI button in the Audiosnap Palette. But you might need to do some massaging of the transient markers, depending on what's in the track.

Also, be aware that the current transient detection algorithm tends to place markers about 15ms late (30 ticks at 125BPM), so you might want to paste the copied MIDI into a track and slide it a little earlier before re-copying and using it as a Groove Quantize reference.

Cool, thanks for the tips BF...I'll give that a go!
