I have used a Plasma tv with Sonar Plat...the thing was to set the VC to the TV specs...resized and it worked, when it worked..which was not tvs fault..lol.
 
I have also used 4k computer 27in monitor, no issues with anything not clicking...But the issues, were not of the monitor...As I plugged in other regular 27 in monitors, mice, meace, and odd things to see what was causing all sorts of issues....Monitor had nothing to do with any of my testings and troubles...
 
I truly hope for the best...for you, from Bandlabs...If it is a oversight, today 2018, tech is going 8k soon...oh boy..look out...lol
4k is for video, which is usually tied to audio/DVD/ Blu ray in resolutions being higher up the scaling for to refine the picture quality...From what I am reading...Not sure about it being only for games?...But, I might be wrong....(Nah.)

When you installed the programs and plugins...Did you turn off all Anti virus, and defender...?.
 
I have seen things go disappear like when not doing this..Not sure if the Security, and signing issues be, if windows does not see em...It was (witnessed) that installing a certain driver...the driver would or could be removed by MS windows 10...Just vanishes....On one of my bouts with my old PC setup.
 
Not saying anything Is your issue cause, but be mindful...it does help when installing to turn all that background stuff off...then install....(best be safe than sorry)...

To clarify, I said "mostly", not "only" as it applies to motion media. For apps all it does is shrink things (in very fine detail) so small you can't see them anymore.
