Like many others I have had the same install problem with Rapture in getting  redirected to a Dimension Pro window instead of getting Rapture in the intitial installation of X2. While I really appreciate the addition of Rapture to X2 and while I understand that these kinds of things happen in the computer world , I really am looking forward to using Rapture 1.2.2.

For those not aware of the problem, those who buy Sonar X2 Producer get Rapture in the deal. The only problem is that when the included Rapture is unpacked the installation file redirects falsely to a Dimension Pro window. I have read about some ways to work around this that don't seem especially intutive to someone who isn't  comfortable with the windows registry.

Guys do we have a more straightforward approach yet like a patch file? If I could simply download Rapture from the software page and then put in my numbers that would be cool. I can't do that because Cakewalk wants to be paid for Rapture in that area. I hope the install file is at least workable to new users or I can see this one coming back to bite you.

I'm up for anything that works at this point but preferably something that works in a way that doesn't take hours to fix. I know you are working on it. Can you walk a guy through this thing in a way that makes it uncomplicated? Thanks!

Bump.........I  delved into my Registry and got it sorted out thanks to this post http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?&m=2667101&mpage=4. If you follow this EXACTLY it will work.I should say that in my case and many others it has worked hopefully it will work in your case. This fix is not relevant to the admin requirements necessary for serial number input on initial launch.

You basically temporarily disguise your Dimension Pro files so the Rapture installer doesn't recognize them. This works because the Rapture installer is somehow confusing Dim Pro validation with Rapture.....someone else has said that they think it is the result of one of the baker programmers using a Dim Pro shell to write the Rapture installer which didn't turn out so well.

Whatever the case I understand everyone makes mistakes. I was able to make it work thanks to Ryan and a few others who know the registry and a few tricks.....Hopefully this will be simplified better in the future. I did waste most of an hour  getting it right.I had to unpack the installer several times because I missed a few changes in the registry.
