Remember when the boys at Gibby, FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT!, with the braz fret boards?
Although I did play, and lust after, an '03 R9 that R&S had reliced.
That bad girl was RIGHT in every detail.
In an original Cali Girl (brown on the outside, pink in the middle) case,
she would have fooled the best; she was that good!
Tried to buy her, the seller (this was the Cal Vintage Show) didn't take Visa.
I literally hugged the guy (you should have seen his face! I should have kissed him!).
Thanked him for saving me like 6K.
 
But, back to the program in progress; we've been, and are being, PLAYED!
If she speaks to you and for you; buy her!
But don't count on anything built since the 60's attaining some kind of "vintage" value.
Gibson Inc. and pre-CBS Fender; otherwise you're just foolin' yourself.
Oh and Brazilian Martins of course.

I have been playing for -eeks- almost 30 years. I've bought and sold a lot of guitars and now have a stable of some really great instruments that I LOVE. I only stated that this was a "Collectors Edition" because that's what it's called - not because I was buying into that hype. It happens to be a really great tele and I've never owned a tele - nothing ever spoke to me. I just didn't want to overpay or offer something insulting.
 
I agree that the hype around the collector's editions are just hype. :)

My Jack Russel spoke to me once, but that's a whole 'nother story....

Oh, and that is the "Collectors" Tele; right?
Frankly the SR is about the best amp Fender ever built.
If they had left the Presence control on (and lost the Vibrato) the amp would be almost perfect!
