I'm on Windows 7 and from what I read, their card was compatible.

Windows itself has no problem seeing the card. Plays music all day long. Only SONAR cant find it, the same thing happened when I re-installed, the drivers are named channel 0, 2,4 and 6. That seems weird.

.
Just out of curiosity, have you tried another DAW to see if it works there? You can download a free fully functional non expiring demo of REAPER, which you can select the 'Portable' install option where everything is kept 'self contained' so your system is left as it was when you remove it.

There are some inexpensive external USB audio modules with decent ASIO drivers that get good reviews.

From the Behringer U-Phoria UM2 on the low end for $29.99, https://www.amazon.com/Be...D=8HDMGGW0GMEY9Q7QDKXE

... and the Focusrite Scarlett Solo for $97.84 (high end of the low end, but they have some really decent products with good drivers) https://www.amazon.com/Fo...s=usb+audio+interfaces

That's a good suggestion!  Also, you can always get Tracktion T6 for free, the full version, unlimited tracks etc.  Not a demo.

Good for a comparison test!

I suspect they are passing off asio4all as their "native ASIO" drivers.  I wouldn't write them off just yet - especially since you may not have another ASIO option.

You mentioned that the drivers came on a disk.  At the very least, download and try the latest version from the asio4all website.

they dont actually have "download drivers", only download their software, which is a control panel for the soundcard.

In the control panel theres a little ASIO latency changer dialog box, but thats it. This seems to mean the ASIO drivers have been installed, at least as far as they are concerned.

I cannot find anywhere to download any drivers.

if you want to continue using asio4all, be sure to configure it in "öffline mode" before booting sonar... it does seem like the "control panel for the soundcard" included with the software bundle IS the native asio driver, otherwise they're just lying and if clicking the "little ASIO latency changer dialog box"just launched the asio4all cp it would be obvious, but terratec have been around for quite a while so i'd be surprised if that were the case, unless they got bought up by some brand-collecting big-co who only care about sales and not after-sales...
did you contact terratec support?

Remove asio4a and any possible "hidden" audio devices in device manager.
Uninstall the soundcard drivers and reinstall after a reboot.
If you have Windows 10 and get Cakewalk by Bandlad (no need to uninstall X3) you are better of without Asio4all, even when your soundcard doesn't support ASIO, but yours definitely does.

I see back in December you were shopping for a sound card and said this was for playback only.
I'm not sure why you bought a 3rd party sound card when all you really need for playback and editing is the on board audio and WASAPI. Asio4all works too, but is no longer really needed now Sonar supports Waspai.
I use on board on a W7 laptop running WASAPI exclusive day in day out with no real issues. Of couse not all on board cards are created equal but these day's on board video and sound have come a long ways and there's not much need to use 3rd party any more.
